Eli Manning brilliant as Giants oust top-seeded Packers to book spot in title game

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- For Eli Manning and the New York Giants, Lambeau Field has become a familiar launching pad. After beating the Green Bay Packers at home for the second time in four years, they only hope this trip ends the same way -- at the Super Bowl.

Manning threw three touchdown passes and the Giants shocked the Packers 37-20 in an NFC divisional playoff game Sunday. Manning threw for 330 yards, sending the Giants to San Francisco for the NFC championship game next Sunday night.
The Packers (15-2) might have been the reigning Super Bowl champs, but the Giants (11-7) might be the hottest team in the NFL.
"I think we're a dangerous team," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "I like where we are and how we're playing."
The Giants stunned the Packers with a touchdown off a long heave from Manning to Hakeem Nicks just before halftime, then knocked them out with a late touchdown off a turnover. Lambeau Field fell silent as the Giants swarmed the field in celebration, with a handful of New York fans chanting, "Let's go, Giants!"

It seems like the G-men stink until the end of the season and then manage to make a run in the playoffs. It's annoying, especially for a GB fan...

GO NINERS!!!!

Until Saturday, the niners had walked through the season on their #4 defense, and the record-setting Akers kicking the ball. Smith really stepped up his game against the Saints, and I'm hoping he can keep his momentum through next weekend. What an awesome season for both teams. Rodgers was truly an amazing QB as well this year (again), and I think he's definitely in the running for MVP still.

Only saw the first half. The Giants seems to be playing alright to me, that sounds like sour grapes, cyvoid. The Giants seemed to pull themselves together at the end of the season, even as the Jets were in total meltdown. Remember, the Jets were supposed to thrash the Giants on Christmas eve? I saw Rogers on his ass a lot. It was a legit NY victory.

no not really. I am pissed at the way the pack played, but have I have no problems loosing to a better team. the giants could not stop the pack in the first half, the packers kept stopping themselves. they played much better in the second half while the pack continued to suck. That is what pisses me off, not that the giants won

this ...

There were even two rather obnoxious calls by the refs that would have turned the game even further in the favor of the Giants had they actually had eyes in their heads. That fumble was really really bad. even the commentators couldn't believe that the refs upheld it after a challenge.

Ball was out before his knees were down. There was one replay angle that showed it clearly.
