Girlfriend will be travelling to London March 30th for a school trip and she uses a non-international phone (a Blackberry by Sprint) so she can't take it with. For those of you who live in the UK, or travel often, what is the best thing to do/get in this case?

Cheapest android phone on that list is £59.99: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.212-5644.aspx Although that's pointless to be honest, why would she need one of those when on holiday?
once you have the phone > tescos topup, you give them £10, they give you £40 credit. Only takes 10 mins to sign up to and no need for a contract ;0)
dont be so hooked on technology.... have a week or two off the fone, and use internet cafe's and hotel internets to send emails saying you're having a ball, if you must. A holiday should be just that, a break from your normal life imho
Buy a London sim card and use it in her phone. Or a local throw away phone. That is what we did traveling for work. But, DJ is right. Vacation? Does she really need to be on the phone to home all holiday? Daughter did that in South Africa, and lost much of her holiday worrying and whining.
Keep your old ways to yourself, old man
