I need some help making a decision and I hope you all can help with some insights.

I have the option of PGP Desktop Pro or Trucrypt to use on a Toshiba Ultra light notebook. Not the fastest machine. Which is better? More Secure? Easier to use? Going to slow the machine down the least? etc? Any help would be appreciated.

I would go with Truecrypt. First main pro is it is free!
We use this at work to encrypt our own laptops, as well as for our clients who want encrypted hard disks on their laptops.
It is very easy to use, extremely high security, and doesn't noticably have any performance knocks.

I have to admit that I have not used PGP yet, but we have tried other products and most of the time we always go back to TrueCrypt.

I agree with FlyOnTheWall. I have used TrueCrypt for a very long while with complete success. It was many moons ago that I played with PGP, and certainly of the two, I'd recommend TrueCrypt every time. I remember the first time I used TrueCrupt that it seemed like it was going to be a daunting setup procedure, but in fact it is like riding a bike - do it once and it comes fairly naturally.

Truecrypt is by far the best all-around that I have come across. Multiplatform, stable, fast, secure, and SIMPLE.

Alright sounds like TruCrypt is going to be the winning choice. Thank you!
