Established in 2009, Total Biker FM was set up to accommodate both the biking community and those who love rock, punk and metal music. The station gained widespread popularity at the end of 2009 following the success of the “Rage Against The Machine For Christmas Number 1” campaign on Facebook and the stations involvement in the promotion of this as well as organising fundraising events contributing towards the £100,000+ raised for Shelter over the Christmas period.
In its first year, Total Biker FM held numerous charity events, attended many bike rallies and rubbed shoulders with some of the greatest rock stars, covering events such as Sonisphere and Bloodstock. The station has already attracted famous names including Fear Factory, Lacuna Coil, Europe, XSM (Ex Simple Minds) and many more for interviews on air. Our listeners have also enjoyed the memorable comical interviews with Rik Mayall and The Lancashire Hotpots!
Not only has Total Biker FM attracted the famous names, we also dedicate a lot of time to unsigned bands and have gained a reputation we are very proud of as one of the best radio stations to discover new talent. As such we are in contact with many unsigned bands and are able to source bands for rallies and other biker events.
2011 has been even busier! We were invited to Bulldog Bash 25 for an amazing show and interviewed some new bands as well as household names. Captain Sensible of The Damned, Gun, Godsized, Nico’s Alchemy, The Stone Kings and many more that topped the bill.
We have also discovered a great band from Northern Ireland who Mucka Jay (owner) was already friends with the bass player. The band, Trucker Diablo is fronted by ex Joyrider frontman Simon Haddock and Total Biker FM are determined to help the band get the fame they deserve.
During 2011, we have also been pushing for 24 hours a day DJ’s which in internet radio, is not something you find often. During the Summer months we have doubled our DJ staff total and now have a number of reviewers and photographers working for us too.
In August, we saw the launch of the new music chart show which is to be run for the bands, by their fans. All votes get the bands up the charts and weekly we count down the top 10 giving the top bands of the week, extra exposure via the website, airplay and more.
Total Biker FM already has plans to add another 10 DJ’s to the station before the end of the year with some very big names coming on board.
We also have very big plans for 2012 with a lot of festivals, rallies and gigs to attend and many more bands to promote.
If you haven’t yet listened to one of our shows, be sure to tune in and tell all your friends. We guarantee no annoying radio adverts – ever! Visit our website for details www.totalbikerfm.com
