Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Sean Penn is a big-nosed prick. A meddling, tousle-haired, Malibu-house-owning big-nosed prick.

F**k him and the high horse he rode in on.

That is all.

Did he stand you up on your date?

Penn always scores points with me due to the time he was in jail, in a cell beside Richard Ramirez.

Penn:
Ramirez asked for my autograph once. I said, “I’ll give you mine if you’ll give me yours.” Paper passing is contraband, so he asked a guard and the guard figured he wanted to be the cupid in the situation. Actually, this guard was a decent guy. He brought over Ramirez’ autograph. It read, “Dear Sean: Stay tough and hit ‘em again. Richard Ramirez, 666.” It included a pentagram and a very good illustration of his view of the Devil. So I wrote him back something to the effect of, “Dear Richard: It’s impossible to be incarcerated and not feel a certain kinship with your fellow inmates. Well, Richard, I’ve done the impossible. I feel absolutely no kinship with you.”

Some context.

He's been shooting his mouth off about the Falklands. So whatever points he may have scored - like shagging Madonna when she was attractive, back in the mists of time - have gone down to the minus billions level.

F**ck him sideways. Tosser.

Opinions are like assholes....

As a movie star, he is not known or respected for the value of his thoughts.

I don't see how hard this is to grasp anyway. The people that live on the islands have stated they want to be part of Britain. Done. Sorted. Everyone shut the fuck up and leave the islands be.

He's perfectly entitled to his opinions - I've never really liked him much, I remember him shoving paps aside when he was married to Madonna and I remember thinking to myself "No-one gives a toss about you, here.."

You've summed-up the situation, perfectly in the last line. Unlike Argentina, Britain has never invaded the Falkland Islands.

I'm feeling particularly aggressive tonight - I suspect my hormone replacement therapy patches must be faulty - I'm off to bed. Bah!

Penn captains the ship of celeb "smart guys", the outspoken ones that figure that because they make movies/TV shows that their opinions will somehow change the world. Folk like him, Oliver Stone, Madonna, these rich mouthpieces have all the solutions to the world's problems, so long as they don't have to put any more than what they need in charitable donations to balance their tax forms and others do all the work. The best part seems to be the smug attitude they get to carry around with all of their world-changing knowledge.

Maybe around 50 years old they realise that their lives are hollow and without meaning, and apart from giving someone the odd smile, they have never actually contributed anything to society. Most attain huge wealth, then end up blowing it all on something like buying 7 castles...

Flee, the standard is only seven anymore? Damn, I thought you needed at least ten to be relevant?

I was referencing Nicholas Cage, and I wouldn't consider him relevant....even as an actor.

Well met. And bonus points for a rip on Nick Cage.

What about the quiet ones like Bill Gates? They set up to put boatloads of cash for these foundations trying to solve problems but aside from a blip in the paper they don't want to draw too much attention to their work, least so far as I've seen.

Wombat... you need to watch the first 5 minutes of 10 O'Clock Live series 2, episode 2(the last one to air). David Mitchell takes a good shot at Penn.

Cheers big fella, I was going to watch it but something came up - possibly me posting here against SP! Mitchell's very good, he and Robert Webb did a brilliant take down of Braveheart (another film that pisses me off!)
