Someone should warn Mrs. the Skitz. It's only fair.

here's what my garden looks like right now... you can just see the gas bottle I've rigged up for the wee fire in the living room on the left there.... the orange thing.... I'll take another pic tomorrow so you see just how bad it is......

Snowed all day, fine, powdery, sand-like snow. Then it got thicker. Then it rained. It's still raining and everything's thawing. I hate living here sometimes and today is one of those days. Oh and the RAID 5 array I've been building over the past few days decided to balls up as well. Today sucks.

just been outside, there's a nice drift forming at the side of the car port, a couple of foot deep at the minute, still flinging it down with snow.... looks like a day off driving tomorrow, and no sunday carvery at the white lion

Buy Diesel. Same stuff, PM me with your burner (probably Riello) and I'll tell you how to prime it.

good point... I'm gonna drain my car's 1/4 of a tank, and stick that in there.... It's not a riello, it's a camray 5, and I know how to prime it, it's fine and easy, just press a button, it does it for you on this one.

Worked out it uses roughly 2.4 litres an hour on full whack, there's ~15 litres in the car, we should get a couple of days out of that, which is all we need to sort the money out to buy some more. For some reason there's a minimum order of 500 litres with all the companies we have found so far, which works out to about £350..... frustrating... esp on cold days like this....

the new house uses natural gas instead of oil for our heating, and the difference is huge cost-wise. For an oil delivery, it was 100 gallon minimum, so it cost us last year something like $350-375 at a shot, and I usually had to get 2 deliveries a month. This year it's $135 a month, and there are no deliveries, just constant service

Kids will have fun in the snow, anyway.

We had oil for a few years. Then, went to a heat pump. Less smelly.

Love the pictures, skitzy! Mooore! We've had some nippy days too, but it looks like the gulf stream is getting the upper hand against the Siberian high again now :-)

here's the rest of the pics Carol took this morning whilst it was all virgin snow....

Note, the car UNDER the car port is covered with snow

it was about 15 inches deep at the top of drive... a good run up, and smash through in reverse technique saw it off....
