Hey,
I will not name the school, because of how easy it would be to search this in a search engine. But, my main issue is you are graded on paragraph and sentence structure, proper punctuation, and of course grammar. I'm in the third week of this semester, and I notice in the .pdf textbooks that we are supposed to learn from constantly have words ran together (no spaces in between them) and a few misspelled words. Now my thing is if we are graded on all of this, then shouldn't the textbooks at least be correct? Sometimes there are misspelled words in the instructors questions in class. I want to point it out, but I am wondering if they do that on purpose to see if someone will point it out, or if they expect you to just overlook it and not say a word. Anyway below is my assignment for the day in this class and wasn't even aware that this had to be done until today. I'm just whining, I know. But, this is over half my grade for this week. Point to this being would you point out their mistakes, or just overlook them? I don't want to piss off the instructor but you know.....It irritates me to no end, but another thing is that in one class I just found out my assignment for today is to ....

Write a thesis sentence stating how and why it is more than just a piece of entertainment. The thesis must include why it is a legitimate form of popular culture. Keep in mind factors such as influence and controversy.

Write a 250- to 350-word introductory paragraph that includes points that will be used in a paper to support your thesis statement

Are you taking some form of English class? If not, all the above is pointless to be graded on. For example, when I was in high school, they didn't teach grammar, etc, in English class. That was supposed to be done in public school, so it wasn't taught or graded(unless it was terrible).

I took programming in school. The text books were filled with errors. I lived with a guy that was on a scholarship for English at Queens University(one of the best in the country), and he took a red pen to the text books like a mofo. When I was done school, I handed the text books back with all his comments/corrections

Also, if you are taking some form of English, why? Go into trades. Writers tend to end up working at Starbucks. The guy I lived with on the scholarship has never been employed as a writer to date. That was roughly 10 years ago.

I'm actually going for Computer networking with an emphasis in Web Design

Then no one that hires you will give a shit about grammar. I do linux/sql server support for a company. The programming department is like 40% Asian, 40% Indian, and 20% everything else(quite a few Russian). Grammar is the last thing anyone worries about.

I find it funny. When I am looking through the logs I get to see things like "The connection timeouted".

Those are some weird classes for an IT related job. How does the Psychology fit in? Dealing with customers? coworkers?
