This notebook was ssweet, I'm going to see if I can swing getting one for my son for the rest of his high school years, it was only $200.00 through my work.

I had one of those!! I loved it! Then Abi dumped water on it. Me has no more.
Be wary of netbooks.
They are designed for simple internet stuff and basic multimedia entertainment. The Atom processor was built for low power consumption... the trade off is lower performance.
Not having a cd drive is a simple fix by purchasing an external usb drive. That does detract from their portability... carrying another piece. Also consider that they do not have the juice to run most games. They work well for the java and flash stuff all over the internet.
When used for what they are designed for they are excellant tools, but I tell my customers that they are not suitable for an everyday "this is my computer" computer.
For about the same money you should be able to find a nice dual core laptop with all the bells and whistles. We just sold out of a batch of Latitude D630's w/ a Core2Duo 2.2 and 2GB RAM for $250.
Yep! We have a couple of those, but they are two Asus and one HP (sucks **s) and then the tablets, the laptops and the desktop. I like having my netbooks handy when I am walking around the house. But I probably won't buy another.
I use a System 76 Starling (netbook) every day. I used to pack that huge ass Samsung R610 back and forth in my backpack, but when I got a new one, I opted for the netbook route to reduce the amount of weight while on my motorcycle. Best move I ever made. I tether it to my android when I need to fix something remotely.
You're not going to play MW3 on one of those, but I don't really play video games much anymore, so that doesn't matter to me. If it matters to you, then look elsewhere.
Toshiba makes some nice tablet pc notebooks.
Relatively small and the best of both worlds. (computer and tablet)
