Sue paid for her college - albeit with a interest-bearing loan
Sue worked for a living
Sue bought a home - to think that the only reason she could afford it is the deduction of the interest is silly. Not to mention at this point with no kids it is highly unlikely she would actually get the deduction since it requires itemizing. The deductionencourages homeownership which is good for the economy.
Sue got various tax credits but she paid taxes - putting her in the upper 50 percentile
Sue got social security benefits but that is after paying into the system for 45+ years
Sue qualified for Medicare after paying taxes for it for 1/2 a century or so
So yes, she did receive benefits as a taxpaying citizen - no one is saying that is wrong.

Shhhhhh , the Lefties can't handle the truth, you might make them think coherently for once in their lives

See Sue run to public school, she may learn to read and write before graduating. She may even get stabbed. How exciting! See Sue's daddy take a child-care tax credit. That's right, other people help subsidise his family planning (or is he just getting his own money back?). See Sue pay extra for college because of government involvement (Biden recently admitted as much, ha ha). See Sue's mommy work too, because one parent working just isn't enough these days for most people, thank you government! See Sue get a job despite all the bureaucracy involved for her employer. If the government got out of private enterprise there would have been more choice of jobs for Sue. Apparently her degree gets her a job as a carpenter. See Sue thrown out of work as the government funded housing bubble bursts. See her hounded in court for the rest of her life when she has trouble repaying her student loan. Poor Sue, her credit rating is now shit. Too bad she can no longer afford a house. Sue gets a shitty deal on all her credit transactions now, thanks to the government. Go Feds! See Sue have a baby. See Sue take the child care tax credit, good job clawing back some of your tax money, Sue! See Sue saving outrageous amounts of money to pay for a college education for her child. What a ridiculous notion! If only the government got out of education, college would be much cheaper. Fat chance of that though Sue, hard luck. See Sue retire. I hope she managed to put enough into her 401k, because her social security payments won't even pay for her daily dogfood. See Sue get sick. Too bad she can't afford private health insurance (thanks to the government). Now she has to take whatever shit the government lets her have. Sorry Sue, the expensive drugs that treat your illness aren't covered by medicare. Have some aspirin and an early death instead.
If only Sue had joined a party which desired to remove control from the government, and return it to the individuals wherein it should properly and rightly reside. Too bad, Sue! Hope your daughter fares better!

A few panes were left out...
See Sue be forced to accept furlough days and lose 15% of her salary.
See Sue sign up for unemployment insurance because her employer shipped her job off to Asia.
and
See Sue go into default on her mortgage because she lost her job and is upside down on the loan.

Sue works for the government?
Carpentry jobs are being shipped overseas now?
See sue question the logic of the Community Re-investment act, and the relaxation of qualifications under Clinton that allowed her to purchase a home beyond her ability to pay for it.

No., and neither does my wife.
I hope you are just being a smart ass and not really that out of touch.
Are you sure Sue did not work in manufacturing?
Sue's income was well above the guidelines and her house was quite modest. She had no problems whatsoever... until losing her job.
So, it really has nothing to do with what happened 12 - 20 years ago.
But nice try. You really need new talking points.

I don't know of many manufacturing jobs that require a hand-saw... or a college education. Perhaps she should have choosen her career path more carefully.
Well, given that she must not be all that under-water then... that's assuming she choose to be a responsible borrower and bought a house she could reasonably afford instead of spending every cent allowed by the banks. Also, considering that Sue's daughter is in College, 20 years would be just about the time we'd be talking about (or are we going to blame Bush for being upside down on her mortgage after making 20 years of payments on it?).
You just need to start listening.
