me too. We use it every year to make Apple Butter or apple sauce.
peels, cores, and slices all at once. Works pretty good too! We processed about 100 pounds of apples this year. would not have wanted to do them all by hand for sure.

That design has been around for about 150 years.
Even the Japanese can not improve it.

for sci-fi, there isn't much these days. Waiting for Falling Skies to come back, still hoping for someone to close off The Event. and Terra Nova. Its a family show, but decent.
Yeah, I would love to have seen what "The Event" had in store for the second season, but at least "Falling Skies" is coming back, and "Terra Nova" hasn't been cancelled yet.
Not really sci-fi, but I've been giving "Grimm" and "Once Upon a Time" a go. Prefer the latter. Have you seen?
There are those who will disagree with me, but I recommend "Once Upon a Time" over "Grimm."
Here's why:
1. Better writing. Grimm seems too much like a one of those "monster of the week" type shows, but OUAT has actual stories. In fact their formula involves going back and forth between two related story lines - one dealing with the present conflict, and other an origin story that takes places in the past.
2. More eye candy. Grimm has an attractive female character every now and then, but OUAT has three fairly good looking women who are main characters in the show: The Mayor (the Evil Queen), the School Teacher (Snow White), and Emma. Red Riding Hood also has a recurring role, and man, the girl that plays her is hot!
